How to download a TikTok without the watermark
The bouncing logo is not part of the video. It is stamped on when the app exports the file, which is why a different route avoids it.
The watermark is added on the way out
When you tap Save in the TikTok app, the file is re-exported with the logo and the creator username burned into the picture. The stored video does not carry them.
That is why no editor can remove it cleanly afterwards: at that point the logo is made of the same pixels as everything else, and cropping it out costs you part of the frame.
How to get the clean file
- Tap Share on the video and choose "Copy link". The short vm.tiktok.com address works fine.
- Paste it into the TikTok downloader and check the preview.
- Pick MP4 for the video, or MP3 if the original sound is the part you want.
What about photo slideshows
TikTok also publishes posts made of still images with a track behind them. Those resolve the same way, and the audio can be pulled on its own when the song is what you were after.
Credit still matters
Removing the watermark removes the attribution with it. If you plan to repost the clip anywhere, name the creator: it is the difference between sharing something and quietly claiming it.
